Professional dog training led by Jett Hamilton, founder of Jett’s Pets. With a focus on communication, relationship-building, and behavioral clarity, Jett offers a thoughtful, results-driven approach to helping dogs and their owners thrive—both at home and on the go.
Why Dog Training?
Dogs have been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. Through my experiences—both professional and personal—I’ve come to understand that effective training isn’t about domination or control. It’s about communication, consistency, and compassion. I use positive reinforcement methods, focusing on rewarding desired behaviors rather than punishing unwanted ones. Dogs learn best when they feel safe, motivated, and understood.
My Philosophy
I believe training is a partnership between the dog, the trainer, and the owner. My role is to provide the knowledge, tools, and framework to help you reach realistic, meaningful goals with your dog. Your role—just as crucial—is to bring repetition and consistency into your dog’s daily life. Progress comes with practice. No one—not even the best trainer—can transform a dog without effort and commitment from the owner.
While I do not offer a guarantee in the sense of promising a “fixed” or “perfect” dog, what I can guarantee is that I will provide a clear, ethical, and supportive plan that aligns with your dog’s needs and your goals. With commitment and patience, real and lasting results are within reach.
Experience & Expertise
For over six years, I have had the privilege of working with a variety of breeds and behavioral challenges, from high-energy working dogs to anxious rescues. I am a proud member of the Professional Dog Trainer Organization (PDTO), where I stay up-to-date with the latest research, humane training practices, and professional development. I hold myself to the highest standards of ethical treatment and professionalism in every session. I am currently enrolled in the reputable CCPDT program to obtain my certification in dog training in October of 2025.
Preferred Tools
While every dog is different, I often work with a few foundational tools that I find helpful in creating structure and success:
· Slip lead – For clear, controlled communication on walks
· Placemat – To help teach boundaries, calm behavior, and self-regulation
· Extended leash – To practice recall and controlled freedom
· Reward system – This may be treats, toys, praise, or affection, depending on what motivates your dog most
All tools are introduced with care, and I’ll walk you through how to use each one properly and ethically.
Handling Mistakes & Learning
I don’t expect perfection—mistakes are a natural part of learning, for both dogs and humans. My goal is to help you navigate challenges without frustration or fear. Training is not about quick fixes; it’s about building lasting habits, and those are formed over time.
References & Results
I am so grateful to my current and past clients who have left rave reviews for my help with their dogs. You will find these reviews on Google under “Jett’s Pets”. Their stories reflect the same message I share here: training works when we work together.
